How Does The Military Diet Plan Work?

The “Military Diet”, also known as the 3-day military diet is a 7-day plan that is split into two phases. There is a set low-calories meal plan which you must follow in the first 3 days. The set low-calorie meal plan is to be taken for breakfast, lunch, and dinner with no intake of snacks in between the meals.

Military Diet Review

Under this plan, you will consume approximately 1,100-1,400 calories every day. In the remaining days, you are supposed to eat healthily but still with a low-calorie intake.

In case you did not understand how this works; in the first 3 days of the military diet, there is a set meal plan which restricts you to calorie intake. However, in the following four days, there is no calorie intake restriction.

The Meal Plan

The following is the detailed information on the set meal plan.

The meal plan for day one has 1,400 calories.

Drinking tea or coffee is not limited to a specific amount; you can drink all you want. However, do not add any sugar or any other sweeteners. It is not in the military diet plan, but you should drink enough of water because you will need it for your overall body health.

In the remaining days of the week, you will be dieting as well even though there is no restriction on what to take. You can have snacks on these four days. However, you are required to take foods in small amounts and ensure that your daily calorie intake does not exceed 1,500

What you substitute the meal plan with does not matter; all that matters is that you maintain the daily calories intake as given. Make sure you count the calorie before taking them.

Military Diet Review and Results

As long as you do not overeat on the four days when your meals are not restricted, it is possible to lose up to 10 pounds. Ensure that your calorie intake in the four days does not exceed 1500 as required. It will be impossible to keep off weight if you cannot watch your diet in the remaining 4 days of the week.

Avoid taking sweetened drinks and alcohol for fast results. You will start noticing weight loss during the first few days which will keep you motivated to continue with the diet plan.

Is The Military Diet Safe?

Anybody out there thinking of trying out the military diet might be wondering if it is safe. The military diet is very safe and has no known effects that might tamper with your health.

However, in the three days of intermittent fasting, you will feel hunger. This should not worry you since you have to create a calorie deficit for you to lose weight.

However, you should visit your doctor to see if your body can handle this type of diet; people are different. If you have any health issues it would be difficult for you to handle the military diet; consult your doctor first.

Do you want even more impressive results?

Following the military for a month will help you lose more weight than you could have in a week. You will lose up to 30 pounds in the entire month. This would be a perfect strategy for someone who is obese and wants to lose a lot of weight in a short while. Use this diet plan to help you get in that wedding gown that would not fit you.

For even much better results, incorporate exercise with the military diet. Training is not part of the diet, but it will increase the pace of weight loss if introduced. You do not have to go to the gym; simple exercise like walking for thirty minutes is enough.

For even much better results, add more restricted meal days to the already set three days. You can make it maybe four or five days depending on how much more your body can take. This will reduce the days that you eat more thus lose more weight. The more days you push it the harder it will get but the more you will lose weight and be happier.
